Help people use any agent
Deputant is early, and the team is small. We hire few people, and the bar is high.
A hard problem that people feel
A new AI agent comes out every week. Each one asks for your passwords, apps, and memories again. We are building one vault that every agent can use. A privacy filter gives each agent only what it needs.
Start at the beginning
We have not launched yet. Your work shapes the first version.
Build for every agent
Make one setup work with every agent, including agents that do not exist yet.
Build for everyone
We build for everyday people. Clear and safe is better than clever.
Small team, plain words
Say it plainly
We write short notes and talk directly. Simple words lead to clear decisions.
Watch real people
We watch people use agents. Then we build what they need.
Ask first
Our users approve what agents and humans do. We build that rule into every feature.
Open roles
We want to hire these six people first. Each one owns a large part of Deputant. Open a role to see what it takes.

Operations
Operations Lead, Human Help
Build and run the team of humans who do real-world tasks for our users’ agents.
What you will do
- Hire, train, and lead the humans who make calls, run errands, and take back returns.
- Design each process, quality check, and safety rule. No task starts without the user’s approval.
- Set the targets for speed, quality, and trust. Read the numbers every week and act on them.
- Take your turn on call. Fix problems the same day.
You have
- You built and scaled a high-trust operations team at a top on-demand, concierge, trust and safety, or support company.
- You wrote the processes, quality checks, and safety rules that a large team used every day.
- You run operations from data. You choose the metrics, find the cause, and change the process.
- You were on call for live operations and stayed calm when things broke.
- You write clearly. People follow your instructions the first time.
Bonus
- You handled payment cards or identity checks under strict compliance rules.
- You worked with engineers to automate your own team’s work.
-
Engineering
Founding Engineer, Agent Platform
Build the vault API and connect every agent to it.
What you will do
- Design and build the vault API that every agent calls.
- Connect agents through MCP, browser agents, and direct APIs. Add each new agent in days.
- Build permissions so each agent gets only the items the user allows.
- Keep the platform fast and reliable as the number of agents grows.
You have
- Exceptional skill in distributed systems and API design.
- You shipped a product that millions of people use, or built core infrastructure at a top AI lab or startup.
- You designed a public API or protocol that other developers build on.
- Deep knowledge of authentication and authorization, such as OAuth and scoped tokens.
- Your code and design docs teach other strong engineers.
Bonus
- You contributed to MCP or another agent protocol.
- You built SDKs or developer tools that many teams use.
-
Engineering
Founding Engineer, Security and Privacy
Keep every password, card, and memory in the vault safe.
What you will do
- Own encryption, key management, and secrets handling across the product.
- Build the enforcement layer of the privacy filter. An agent never gets data the filter removed.
- Run threat models, security reviews, and outside audits.
- Plan and lead our response if something goes wrong.
You have
- Deep, applied skill in cryptography or security engineering.
- You secured a production system that holds passwords or payment data.
- You designed key management with hardware security modules or secure enclaves.
- You found and fixed real vulnerabilities, and you can explain them to anyone.
- You led a security audit such as SOC 2 or PCI DSS.
Bonus
- Published security research, CVEs, or bug bounty finds.
- You shipped end-to-end encryption in a consumer product.
-
AI
Founding Engineer, AI Privacy Filter
Build the AI that checks each request and gives each agent only what it needs.
What you will do
- Build the models that scan each request between the vault and an agent.
- Remove the data that an agent does not need. Keep the data it does need.
- Build the evals that prove the filter works. Run them on every change.
- Keep the filter so fast that users do not notice it.
You have
- Strong ML engineering. You trained, tuned, and shipped models to production.
- You built LLM evals that a team trusted for launch decisions.
- You shipped low-latency inference under a strict time budget.
- You worked on detection or redaction of personal data.
Bonus
- Research on privacy, adversarial attacks, or prompt injection.
- Experience with small models that run on a user’s device.
-
Engineering
Founding Engineer, Virtual Computer
Build the virtual computer that runs on each user’s own device.
What you will do
- Build a virtual computer that runs on macOS and Windows.
- Run browser automation inside it, so agents use the user’s own internet and accounts.
- Sandbox each agent so it cannot reach the rest of the device.
- Make install simple. Keep the virtual computer light on battery and memory.
You have
- Systems-level depth in virtualization on macOS and Windows, such as Virtualization.framework and Hyper-V.
- You shipped desktop software that runs on a very large number of consumer machines.
- Deep knowledge of browser automation, such as the Chrome DevTools Protocol and Playwright.
- You built sandboxes that isolate untrusted code.
Bonus
- You worked on a browser engine, a hypervisor, or an operating system.
- You know how anti-bot systems detect automation.
-
Product
Founding Engineer, Product (Full-stack)
Build the Deputant app and make setup feel simple.
What you will do
- Build the consumer app and onboarding, from the first screen to the first agent.
- Make it take seconds to add a password, a card, or an app.
- Ship small changes every day. Watch real people use them.
- Own the design details when no designer is in the room.
You have
- You shipped consumer products that people love, and you shipped them fast.
- You are obsessive about craft: spacing, motion, speed, and words.
- Deep skill across the full stack: TypeScript, React, a server language, and databases.
- You made a complex product feel simple for everyday people.
Bonus
- You built native apps for iOS, Android, macOS, or Windows.
- A side project or open-source work that shows your taste.
